Green Subsidies @MC13: How can the WTO deliver?

Our policy analyst Cláudia Azevedo highlighted the risks of a global subsidy race, its impacts on developing countries' green transition, as well as the need for a rules-based trading system that is fit for purpose.
 
Representatives of the EU, Japan and the US shared their national perspectives and respective subsidy programmes, offering different perspectives on the way forward.

The panel discussed expectations for the World Trade Organization MC13 taking place in two weeks, including the potential launch of structured discussions on the trade and industrial policy nexus and the need to strengthen cooperation on trade and environment within the WTO.
