Public Webinar “Towards a European Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism: Unpacking the European Commission’s proposal”
One week after the publication of the Fit-For-55 package whose objective is to put the European Union on track to a 55% GHG emissions reduction by 2030, Europe Jacques Delors and the French Permanent Representation to the EU have the pleasure of inviting you to a public discussion on the challenges and opportunities raised by the European Commission's proposal for a European Border Carbon Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
A keynote address by Gerassimos Thomas, Director General for Taxation and Customs Union (TAXUD) at the European Commission will be followed by a panel discussion with Pascal Lamy, Vice-President of Europe Jacques Delors and former Director General of the WTO, Geneviève Pons, Vice President and Director General of Europe Jacques Delors and former Director of WWF EPO, Pr. Gabrielle Marceau, Senior Legal Advisor at the WTO and Professor of International Law at the University of Geneva, Vincent Lefebvre, CEO of Cem'In'EU (Cement industry), and Claire Cheremetinski, Minister Counsellor for Economic Affairs, Head of Economic, Financial & Recovery at RPFUE. The session will be concluded by a Q&A session with the audience.
